Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada, part of the nation’s largest mentoring network, faced a capacity and logistics challenge as its annual Big Chefs, Little Gala grew to more than 700 interested attendees and a 200+ package auction. To avoid excluding supporters, leadership split the gala into three smaller events, which created new complexities around ticketing, attendee tracking, check-in, and long checkout lines.

They turned to Greater Giving’s tools—online registration with capped ticketing and sponsor self-entry, RSVP data collection, Go Time check-in, and mobile bidding opened a week early—while displaying fewer physical items and eliminating onsite pickup. The changes streamlined check-in, expanded remote bidding (100+ remote bidders in 2023), and enabled post-event delivery of items. The gala’s revenue rose from $240K in 2018 to over $740K in 2023, with faster guest experiences and stronger donor engagement.
