Komodo Health is a healthcare technology startup that uses its Healthcare Map to power data-driven software for patient care and disease management. As its products process more than 15 million clinical encounters per day across highly nuanced disease areas, Komodo Health needed a way to ensure the accuracy of data feeding its alerting pipelines and avoid misleading customer alerts. The company worked with Great Expectations to add quality controls to its data engineering workflows.

Great Expectations was implemented for user acceptance testing and ongoing validation of Komodo Health’s pipelines, with Expectation Suites added in Jupyter notebooks and run on every scheduled execution to verify UAT requirements in production. Great Expectations is also used across upstream ingestion and processing pipelines to prevent data issues from reaching downstream systems, helping Komodo Health manage tens of millions of claims per day and data on over 320 million U.S. patients with greater confidence.
