West Bend School District Identifies, Solves It Operations Issues With Graylog Enterprise

West Bend School District, which serves more than 7,200 students and manages 7,000+ accounts and 8,000+ mobile devices, struggled with troubleshooting because it had no historical log data and technicians were forced to “bounce from one system to another.” The district evaluated log-management options and adopted the Graylog Log Management Platform (initially Graylog Open Source, later migrating to Graylog Enterprise in 2020) to provide centralized log collection, analysis, and monitoring.

Using Graylog Enterprise to ingest logs from NetFlow, switches, wireless access points, Active Directory and other systems, WBSD built correlations, alerts, dashboards and stakeholder reports that let IT quickly pinpoint whether issues are district‑wide, site‑specific, provider‑related or device‑specific. The Graylog solution eliminated guesswork, sped troubleshooting and improved alerting and planning across the district’s 7,000+ accounts and 8,000+ devices, giving the IT team stronger security, predictability and data‑driven operational decisions.
