How an online Community can enhance mentoring quality

Summer Search, a national youth development organization, needed a better way to run its post-secondary mentoring program after moving it to a digital platform called Connect. The organization faced challenges with onboarding students, alumni, staff, and board members, ensuring safety and appropriate use, integrating the platform into daily program operations, and expanding the online experience to better support mentorship and community.

Gravyty’s Community platform helped Summer Search establish Connect as a central hub for mentoring, resources, and engagement, with features and guidance for onboarding, safety controls, training, and performance tracking. By 2021, Summer Search had a network size of 8,360 and 2,454 registered users, and it planned to build on those gains in 2022 by encouraging full network registration and deeper participation.
