A GravityKit Case Study

How we replaced the Google Analytics “Annotations” feature using Gravity Forms and GravityView

GravityKit faced a challenge after the transition to Google Analytics 4, which removed the essential annotations feature they had relied on in the previous platform. These digital sticky notes were critical for tracking how website changes and marketing campaigns impacted their analytics, and the vendor needed a new way to record and visualize this data.

The solution implemented by GravityKit used their own Gravity Forms and GravityView plugins, along with GravityCalendar and a third-party tool for Google Sheets integration. They built a custom Looker Studio dashboard that blended their analytics data with annotations. This provided their marketing team with a powerful, all-in-one solution to submit, update, and visualize annotations directly from the front end, effectively recreating and enhancing the lost functionality without needing to access Google Analytics.
