Neighborhood Allies reinvigorates LRC governance with Grau & Associates in a 3-part strategy

Neighborhood Allies, a Pittsburgh-based community development organization, sought assistance for the Lemington Residential Corporation (LRC), which manages the Eva P. Mitchell Residences. The challenge was to help the LRC rejuvenate its board of directors, develop better governance protocols, and improve its connection with the community and residents. To address this, Neighborhood Allies engaged the vendor Grau & Associates.

Grau & Associates implemented a three-part "Lemington Strategy" to reestablish and reinvigorate the LRC board. The solution involved understanding the corporate history, revising the board's purpose and bylaws, and then executing the revisions by tackling long-standing priorities. The strategy was successful; the board continues to bring on new members, works more effectively with residents to understand their needs, and partners with community resources to solve problems.
