Streamteam Nordic and Grass Valley Enhance the Broadcast Experience of Finnish ICE Hockey with New Remote Production Hub

Streamteam Nordic, one of the largest technical TV production companies in the Nordic region, faced the challenge of efficiently producing over 450 live ice hockey matches per season for its client Telia. They needed to meet rising viewer demands for high-quality, multi-platform content while reducing the high costs and logistical complexity of traditional on-site outside broadcast production. To address this, they partnered with Grass Valley to implement a new remote production infrastructure.

Grass Valley provided a comprehensive solution centered on a new centralized production hub in Helsinki. The solution was outfitted with a suite of Grass Valley products including eight Kahuna production switchers, thirteen LiveTouch replay servers, and the Momentum media asset management platform. This allowed Streamteam to remotely produce events from multiple arenas simultaneously in HD and UHD. The result was a significant reduction in the operational staff required on-site, maximizing resources and saving budget while delivering a flawless viewing experience across TV, mobile, and streaming platforms.
