NEP The Netherlands, a leading European provider of broadcast technology solutions, faced marketplace challenges including changing viewer habits and the need for more flexible, sustainable production methods. They sought a vendor to provide a core routing and switching solution that could meet their immediate HD-SDI needs while enabling a secure and practical future migration to a full IP, cloud-based production platform. Grass Valley implemented a solution centered on its Sirius 850 router and Kahuna production switchers. This hybrid IP/SDI approach allowed NEP to launch its innovative Cloud Production service immediately while strategically migrating to IP using Grass Valley's IQ infrastructure and IP Edge technology. The results included significant savings in cabling and complexity, the flexibility to reallocate technical resources on-demand for different productions, and the ability to offer clients a more sustainable, cost-effective service.
