A Grass Valley Case Study
De Tune Company, a live media and entertainment company, faced the challenge of pivoting its corporate theater-style events for creative agency Public School to a virtual format due to social distancing requirements. They needed a cloud-based solution that could guarantee broadcast-quality, data-center redundancy, and global content routing. To achieve this, De Tune partnered with vendor Grass Valley to implement its GV AMPP (Agile Media Processing Platform) SaaS solution.
The Grass Valley solution enabled a fully decentralized, remote production workflow in the cloud. Using GV AMPP Master Control, a distributed De Tune team seamlessly managed a continuous 24-hour broadcast, delivering three hour-long events to a global audience of 5,000 across six countries. This resulted in the successful broadcast of 37 terabytes of live video from 40 presenters worldwide, all without on-site tech support, showcasing the power and reliability of the cloud-based platform.
