Vilalta Architects, a Barcelona-based design studio, used Graphisoft’s ARCHICAD and BIMx on the BD House — a CLT modular, single‑family prototype in La Garriga, Spain. They needed to move from fragmented 2D/3D toolchains to a macOS‑friendly BIM workflow that could deliver the precision required for factory‑made modules, avoid on‑site clashes, speed up documentation and lower costs during design and assembly.

Graphisoft’s ARCHICAD (with MEP tools), BIMx and collaboration features (Teamwork/IFC workflows) were implemented to model structure and services in 3D, produce coordinated construction details, generate fast bills of quantities and share interactive models with clients and contractors. The Graphisoft solution significantly streamlined project delivery, reduced clashes and coatings (cutting costs), accelerated plan updates and permit documentation, and minimized on‑site assembly errors.
