Scenario Architecture, a London-based practice specialising in high-end residential work, tackled a complete renovation and extension of a Victorian terraced house (The Scenario House) while testing full BIM collaboration on a small-scale domestic project. Their challenge was to replace slow, error-prone 2D workflows with a single, accurate model of a complex existing building (built from laser-scan point cloud data) and to coordinate multiple consultants and contractors efficiently. For this they used Graphisoft’s ARCHICAD as their core BIM tool.

Using Graphisoft’s ARCHICAD (including Teamwork, BIMx and ARCHICAD’s MEP tools) the practice built and maintained one coordinated 3D model, exchanged IFC files with consultants, linked in real‑time visualisations and used BIMx for client and contractor review. Graphisoft’s solutions delivered markedly clearer, better‑coordinated 2D documentation, faster change coordination and improved stakeholder communication — Scenario Architecture reports the end‑to‑end ARCHICAD workflow was about 35% more efficient than traditional 2D CAD, with quicker decisions, fewer clashes and better client engagement.
