Restoring Croatia’s Church of St. Martin with the help of Archicad and BIMx

Foretić Architects, a Croatian practice specializing in cultural and heritage projects, needed a way to restore the ruined Church of St. Martin while also presenting the project clearly to stakeholders and the public. Using Graphisoft’s Archicad and BIMx, the team had to combine existing conditions, historical research, 3D models, photogrammetry, and renovation concepts into a compelling “virtual walk” for a protected monument.

Graphisoft’s Archicad and BIMx enabled Foretić Architects to model the church in 3D, connect plans and booklet content, and create an interactive presentation of the old and renovated building alongside renovation animations. The firm reported that Archicad makes them work at least 10 times faster than traditional 2D drafting, while the project was also well received by the client and already considered a success despite still being in the design phase.
