Marc Koehler Architects delivers 30-home Superlofts Blok Y in Utrecht with Graphisoft

Marc Koehler Architects sought to develop a highly flexible and participatory cooperative housing project called Superlofts Blok Y. Their challenge was to efficiently design and manage a building where future homeowners could co-create and customize their unique apartments, requiring a streamlined workflow to coordinate a shared framework with many individual interior designs. They turned to Graphisoft and implemented Archicad as their central BIM solution.

Using Graphisoft's Archicad, the firm established an intelligent workflow, hotlinking a shared exterior model to numerous unique interior models. This allowed for simultaneous team collaboration and clear communication with clients and contractors via tools like BIMx and CineRender. The solution enabled the successful delivery of the award-winning Blok Y, a building with 30 tailor-made homes, achieving high sustainability standards with an EPC of 0.3 and fostering a strong, pre-existing community among residents.
