K&H Architects - Customer Case Study

K&H Architects faced the challenge of designing Yamaga Elementary School as a large-scale timber building in Japan, when the original RFP called for reinforced concrete and the team had to prove that locally sourced cedar could work for the project. Using Graphisoft Archicad and BIMx, the architects developed a new timber concept while coordinating with clients, locals, and engineers.

Graphisoft’s Archicad and BIMx helped K&H Architects analyze the complex structure, communicate the design visually, and collaborate more effectively throughout design and construction. The result was a completed 9,000 sqm school that won the JIA grand-prix award, was delivered on time, and is now actively used by students, teachers, and residents for learning, play, and community events.
