K&H Architects - Customer Case Study

K&H Architects was commissioned to design the new Miyanomori Elementary School in Higashi-Matsushima, Japan, after the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami devastated the area. The team needed a way to communicate a complex timber design and help local stakeholders understand how the rebuilt school would fit the site and support the community’s recovery, using Graphisoft’s Archicad and BIMx.

Graphisoft’s Archicad and BIMx were used to visualize the school, simulate daylight and views, and let carpenters, builders, managers, and community members review the design in advance. This improved collaboration and helped resolve layout concerns before construction, enabling the project to proceed more smoothly and giving stakeholders a clearer understanding of the final building.
