Inselspital delivers an 82,000 sqm hospital hub with Graphisoft

The architectural team for Inselspital (Bern University Hospital) faced the complex challenge of designing and coordinating the new 82,000-square-meter Anna Seiler House, a flagship healthcare building. They needed to manage a decade-long collaboration between three firms, coordinate 25 disciplines, and meet high sustainability targets, all while creating a flexible, patient-centered facility. They utilized Graphisoft's Archicad and BIMcloud to implement an OPEN BIM method as the foundation for this process.

Graphisoft's solution enabled the team to master the project's complexity. Using Archicad, they standardized facade components, coordinated nearly one million model elements, and delivered a comprehensive BIM database with 18 million data points to the client. The results included the successful delivery of a state-of-the-art hospital that achieved the Minergie-P ECO sustainability standard, along with a fully operational BIM model handed over for long-term facility management, ensuring efficiency from design through to building operation.
