Foretić Architects restores a 500 sqm church with Graphisoft

Foretić Architects, a Croatian architectural firm, faced the challenge of renovating and restoring the historic Church of St. Martin, which was in ruins. Their goal was to revitalize the building as a multifunctional cultural space while preserving its heritage and creating an informational virtual walk for public engagement. They turned to Graphisoft and utilized its Archicad BIM software and the BIMx application to tackle this complex project.

The solution from Graphisoft involved using Archicad to create detailed 3D BIM models of the restoration, including new architectural elements, and BIMx to develop an interactive virtual walk that juxtaposed the old and new states of the church. This digital presentation helped share the project globally. The architects report that using Graphisoft's tools allows them to work at least ten times faster than with classic 2D drafting, producing more comprehensive materials and contributing significantly to their success as a leading practice in cultural and heritage projects in Croatia.
