Dutch Architectural Studio - Customer Case Study

Dutch Architectural Studio was commissioned to design a 25‑story residential estate with a ventilated clinker‑brick façade, but traditional scaffolding and 2D documentation made the project impractical. The team evaluated parametric workflows using Rhino/Grasshopper and decided to leverage Graphisoft’s ARCHICAD and GDL capabilities to handle the repetitive, modular Genesis panel system and to integrate façade design with the building’s reinforced‑concrete frame.

The studio’s lead architect developed ARCHICAD GDL library elements rather than relying solely on Grasshopper, finding the Graphisoft ARCHICAD/GDL approach significantly faster and more responsive for complex panel types. Using ARCHICAD enabled tighter coordination with structural engineers, streamlined generation of multiple panel variants, factory production of the modular panels, and crane‑mounted installation on site—delivering faster design iterations, improved BIM documentation and smoother manufacture and installation.
