Destination Brisbane Consortium delivers Queen’s Wharf with Graphisoft for a $3.6 billion, 340,000sqm project

The Destination Brisbane Consortium faced the immense challenge of coordinating the design and long-term management of the Queen’s Wharf development, a $3.6 billion, 340,000-square-meter integrated resort. With a 99-year operational lease, they needed a robust BIM strategy for both immediate design coordination and future facilities management. They turned to vendor Graphisoft's Archicad software as part of a broader Open BIM approach.

Graphisoft's Archicad, alongside other Nemetschek solutions like dRofus and Solibri, was central to an open BIM collaboration involving 39 organizations and over 340 models. This solution, implemented by the Digital Engineering team at PDC, enabled seamless IFC-based workflows across 16 different software programs. The project won the buildingSMART International Award for Best Design, achieved a 6-star Green Star Communities sustainability rating, and created an integrated model that was being tested for operations four years before delivery.
