A Graphisoft Case Study
CPU Pride, a Moscow architecture firm of more than 60 staff, was tasked with designing the Irina Viner-Usmanova Rhythmic Gymnastics Center — a complex 23,500 m², 4,000-seat sports facility with a distinctive ribbon-like parametric roof. The main challenge was delivering unique architectural forms while coordinating architects, engineers and contractors using different tools and avoiding costly design clashes; to address this CPU Pride adopted Graphisoft’s ARCHICAD along with BIMx and Teamwork as the project’s BIM backbone.
With Graphisoft’s ARCHICAD and BIMx, CPU Pride produced the first 3D model in under a month, maintained a single shared BIM model for design and documentation, and coordinated IFC exchanges to detect and resolve issues early (the initial HVAC model contained 1,800 collisions that were addressed). The Graphisoft-driven workflow eliminated the need for extra BIM hires, accelerated coordination (up to 15 architects concurrently via Teamwork), improved data quality through OPEN BIM, and helped the project win “BIM 2016,” culminating in the completed 4,000-seat center in 2019.
