Coste Architectures faced the challenge of winning and then coordinating a highly complex project for the Saint-Nazaire Aquatic Center, with demanding architectural, energy, structural, and seismic requirements. Using Graphisoft’s Archicad and OPEN BIM workflows, the firm needed a way to collaborate efficiently with engineers, contractors, and the client while reducing errors and communicating the design clearly.

Graphisoft’s solution enabled Coste Architectures to build and exchange rich 3D BIM models through IFC with partners using tools such as Revit MEP, Tekla Structures, AllPlan, and Solibri. The result was improved coordination, early problem detection, faster decision-making, and lower risk of construction errors and extra costs; the approach was strong enough to help Coste Architectures win the first BIM d’Or award and support the project through later phases like synthesis, tracking, and maintenance.
