Behr Browers Architects, a California-based design firm, faced a complex challenge on the Wattstar Theatre & Education Center: a four-story, mixed-use building with two 299-seat cinema auditoriums, classrooms directly below (requiring strict acoustic control), and a distinctive slanted structural glass façade. To manage these design and coordination challenges, the firm turned to Graphisoft's ArchiCAD to develop a 3D Virtual Building model.

Using Graphisoft's ArchiCAD BIM workflow, Behr Browers created a fully coordinated 3D model so changes (walls, windows, etc.) automatically updated plans, sections and details, cutting repetitive tasks and speeding documentation. ArchiCAD’s renderings and digital fly-throughs improved client communication, helped secure new contracts, and allowed the firm to market the Virtual Building model as an added service—outcomes the team describes as invaluable.
