AMA Studio transforms Everards Printworks into a 255-bedroom hotel with Graphisoft

AMA Studio, an award-winning architectural practice, was challenged with sensitively converting the disused Everards Printworks in Bristol into a hotel and mixed-use development while retaining historic structures and managing complex site constraints. Using Graphisoft's Archicad BIM software, the team needed to coordinate detailed design from an existing IFC model, ensure collaboration with contractors, and meet strict planning conditions for this low-carbon regeneration project.

The solution was implemented using Graphisoft's Archicad, which enabled efficient BIM collaboration, IFC coordination with consultants, and the use of tools like BIMx and Twinmotion for communication. Graphisoft's support and the move to BIMcloud facilitated remote work and smooth coordination. The result was a successful regeneration, delivering a 255-bed hotel, 24 apartments, and commercial units with significantly lower embodied carbon, revitalizing the historic building and community.
