Aflalo/gasperini, a prominent São Paulo architecture firm and an early BIM adopter, needed to formalize BIM across its teams while handling diverse project types, massive models and interoperability with external consultants. In 2015 they evaluated Graphisoft’s ARCHICAD for its intuitiveness, fast learning curve and cost, choosing it to improve coordination, quality and productivity across their design workflow.

Graphisoft implemented ARCHICAD beginning with a pilot where a three‑architect team delivered the first phase of a 14‑story office building for approval in just one week; the product’s extensive native library cut time otherwise spent creating parametric objects. Using ARCHICAD and IFC workflows they consolidated a project that had been split across 14 files into a single ARCHICAD file, achieved smooth 3D navigation, comparable drawing extraction performance, and reused structural models to avoid remodeling — contributing to over 1,300,000 m² developed in BIM and prompting the firm to broaden ARCHICAD use office‑wide.
