BWI Airport (Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport) faced the challenge of managing thousands of fiber connections and retaining a single technician’s institutional knowledge while avoiding time-consuming field walks and slow documentation. To solve this, BWI selected Graphical Networks’ netTerrain DCIM with the OSP module to replace their previous, labor-intensive documentation tool.

Graphical Networks implemented netTerrain to document fiber, connections, assets and racks in a web-accessible system; as a result, circuit documentation time fell from about 30 minutes to under a minute, thousands of connections across multiple buildings (including a secondary airport) are now searchable in seconds, field trips have been reduced, and critical knowledge is preserved—with prompt vendor support available when needed.
