A GraphAware Case Study
The Rockefeller Archive Center, a major repository and research centre, faced the challenge of digitizing and extracting knowledge from over 10,000 historical typewritten documents. Their goal was to create a centralized knowledge graph to analyze patterns in historical grantmaking. To achieve this, they partnered with vendor GraphAware and leveraged the Hume knowledge graph platform to transform their unstructured paper records into structured, connected data.
GraphAware implemented a solution using OCR and custom natural language processing pipelines to extract entities and relationships, building a powerful knowledge graph in Neo4j. This enabled researchers to quickly answer complex analytical questions about funding patterns and intellectual networks. The project was completed in six months and the results were so impactful that the Rockefeller Archive Center acquired a Hume license to expand the project, with their director stating GraphAware was an essential intellectual partner in their success.
