Tracking renewable energy across 22,000 sites with Grafana Enterprise Inside Agregio’s observability stack

Agregio, a subsidiary of EDF, aggregates renewable energy from more than 22,000 sites across France and needed a simpler way to monitor production, share insights with business teams, and respond quickly to imbalances. Before adopting Grafana, the company’s IT team was building custom graphs that were cumbersome and time-consuming, and they wanted a tool that could serve non-IT users as well.

Agregio started with Grafana OSS connected to PostgreSQL, then moved to Grafana Enterprise for added SSO authentication, security, and access controls. With Grafana, the company created easy-to-share dashboards, centralized multiple data sources, and used alerting to act quickly when output deviated from expectations, helping reduce financial risk; the platform also gave operations teams more efficiency and is now being considered for IT monitoring as well.
