KeyCDN, a Swiss content delivery network founded in 2012, needed a better way to monitor and visualize a rapidly growing global network. Its legacy SNMP-based Cacti setup required too much manual effort, was hard to customize, and had become difficult to maintain as the company expanded.

KeyCDN adopted Prometheus for data collection and Grafana for visualization, giving the team flexible, responsive dashboards with multiple data sources in one view. With Grafana, KeyCDN can monitor everything from network hardware to application health, process about 2 terabytes of log data per day, and more easily troubleshoot and plan capacity across regions. The result has been a more consolidated, customizable monitoring system that supports ongoing global expansion.
