Prezi, the video and visual communications software company, wanted to find a more cost-effective way to handle incidents and outages. After using PagerDuty for nine years across 133 services and 94 users, the SRE team began evaluating whether Grafana’s Incident Response & Management suite could replace their existing escalation tooling while still meeting their needs for alert collection, routing, and team notifications.

Prezi migrated to Grafana Cloud IRM, using Grafana Alerting, Grafana OnCall, and Grafana Incident to rebuild its incident response workflows and automate escalation management. The transition took about four weeks and ultimately let Prezi retire PagerDuty, with the company reporting a smooth migration, similar functionality to PagerDuty, and annual savings of tens of thousands of dollars thanks to Grafana.
