Apeel Sciences, an ag-tech company focused on reducing global food waste and the related greenhouse gas emissions, needed better visibility into its worldwide coating and packing operations. Using Grafana, Apeel sought a way to monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot issues faster, and keep production running efficiently across geographically distributed facilities.

Grafana helped Apeel Sciences implement real-time dashboards and Grafana Alerting to track metrics such as dryer temperature, flow rate, fruit surface temperature, water and gas usage, and throughput. The solution also integrated with Slack for instant notifications and supported secure access controls for global teams. As a result, Apeel helped save 42 million pieces of fruit from spoiling from January 2019 to June 2021, offset 10,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions, and conserve 4.7 billion liters of water.
