How KCB Bank Uganda greatly improved transaction service monitoring with Grafana

KCB Bank Uganda needed a better way to monitor critical transaction services after discovering its outdated processes could leave systems down for hours before internal alerts were triggered. The bank also struggled with fragmented tracking, using Excel sheets and an earlier dashboard approach that only captured part of system activity and was costly to maintain.

KCB Bank Uganda implemented Grafana OSS with Prometheus, Grafana Alerting, and dashboards to centralize monitoring, visualize transaction and infrastructure data, and send early warning alerts across its services. With Grafana, the bank achieved a 96% improvement in transaction service monitoring, gained real-time visibility into issues, and improved service uptime, helping support more consistent revenue collection.
