Just Eat Takeaway was growing from a startup into a global scaleup with 94 million customers and more than 700 microservices, but its observability setup was struggling with missing or incomplete data that caused false positives and incorrect alerts. To support its 900 engineers and keep real-time monitoring reliable, the company turned to Grafana and Grafana Cloud.

Grafana helped Just Eat Takeaway move to a hybrid observability model, using local Graphite for short-term alerting and Grafana Cloud for dashboarding and long-term queries. This gave the team a more scalable, resilient “single pane of glass” for telemetry data, supporting 4 billion logs, 2 billion data points per day, 8 million active metric series, and nearly 120 TB of usable data, while also improving consistency through dashboards-as-code and setting the stage for OpenTelemetry adoption.
