How ComplyAdvantage built a more flexible observability strategy with OpenTelemetry and Grafana Cloud

ComplyAdvantage, a fintech company focused on compliance and risk management, needed a more unified and secure observability strategy as its systems scaled across 41 Kubernetes clusters and nearly 2,000 nodes. Its earlier Grafana OSS setup was fragmented, overly broad in access, and difficult to manage, while Prometheus servers were frequently overwhelmed by growing logs and metrics demands.

Grafana helped ComplyAdvantage modernize by moving to Grafana Cloud with OpenTelemetry, the OpenTelemetry Collector, Grafana Agent, and later Grafana SLO. This let the team standardize telemetry pipelines, reduce rework during migration, and route traces, metrics, and logs more flexibly across environments. The result was faster migrations, better data storytelling across the business, and clearer operational insight—enabling executives and teams to answer system questions directly from dashboards and use infrastructure data in product and customer conversations.
