Banco Itaú, the largest bank in Latin America, faced the immense challenge of monitoring its massive digital operations, which ingest 1.5 billion metrics daily across on-premises data centers and AWS. With a huge technology workforce, the bank needed a way to quickly respond to performance and uptime incidents that could have a major economic impact. To address this, they turned to Grafana for an observability solution.

Using Grafana alongside Prometheus and Thanos, Banco Itaú built an observability platform as a service. This empowered their teams with over 4,500 dashboards for visualization and improved incident response. The solution was crucial for their cloud migration, using Grafana to monitor critical AWS infrastructure and set up collaborative alerting. As a result, Grafana enabled the bank to effectively manage its scale, improve resilience, and better serve its digital customers.
