Uniper partners with Gradyent to reduce cost and CO2 emissions

Uniper, a major international energy company, faced the challenge of reducing CO2 emissions by 50% by 2030 while improving the cost efficiency of its district heating networks. To help achieve this decarbonization goal, Uniper partnered with vendor Gradyent to leverage digital solutions, selecting their Digital Twin Platform.

Gradyent implemented a real-time Digital Twin of Uniper's heating system, which combines AI and physics-based models to optimize operations. The solution minimized heat losses, reduced costs, and lowered CO2 emissions by selecting the most efficient production strategies. Uniper expects these projected savings to become measurable impacts and is exploring further use cases with Gradyent, such as integrating heat pumps into the system.
