A Graduway Case Study
Brentwood College School, a co‑educational boarding school on Vancouver Island, faced the challenge of turning British Columbia’s new mandatory Grade 10 career-education requirement into meaningful, sustained career mentoring for younger students. With concerns about safety and expectations for 15–16 year olds and the need to engage a dispersed alumni base, the school sought a scalable online solution to give students real-world guidance while fitting into the school curriculum.
Brentwood launched a branded mentoring program on the GradEngage platform (Brentonian Connect), pairing classroom time and hands‑on training with a dedicated resources hub, user types for students, premium yearly groups, bulk communications, analytics and a promotional video, and by sharing responsibilities between counselling and alumni relations. The result: about 140–160 students enrolled per year, 1,300 alumni profiles available and 200–300 active mentors annually, alumni engaged across 55 countries, over 300 student participants in three years, and clear evidence—student reflections and graduates becoming mentors—that learners leave better prepared for post‑secondary life.
