IntoUniversity is a UK not‑for‑profit with 35 centres that helps young people from disadvantaged areas access university and build careers. Its challenge was running a consistent, large‑scale, multi‑site career mentoring programme—recruiting and managing volunteer mentors, matching them with students across centres, and proving impact—without overburdening limited staff.

IntoUniversity moved mentoring online with the Graduway “IU Connect” platform, running two five‑month cohorts a year, using baseline/endline questionnaires, hand‑matched onboarding, reminders, safeguarding monitoring and analytics. The approach let one staff member oversee the programme, reduced mentor time commitment, and made scaling and reporting easier; outcomes include a 7,000‑strong alumni pool, 60–70 mentees per year, and measurable activity (e.g., 32 people in touch, 10 milestones hit, 1,000 messages), with strongly positive participant feedback.
