How Oakwood School used PeerPal to elevate their admissions experience

Oakwood School is a K–12 independent school in the Los Angeles area (≈800 students) known for strong student–teacher relationships and a community-driven admissions approach. Its small admissions team struggled to manage about 40 parent ambassadors using Google Sheets, forms, and drives—making matching, tracking follow-ups, and delivering authentic peer-to-peer connections time-consuming and inefficient.

Oakwood implemented PeerPal alongside an ambassador training program and clear engagement guidelines, improving ambassador profiles, event participation, and diversity-focused outreach. The platform streamlined matching and volunteer management, generated more feedback for applicant records, and created warmer, more transparent admissions conversations; the school now plans to grow its ambassador roster and add personal stories and video links to deepen connections.
