10 Tips on How To Run a Successful Digital Mentorship Program

Krannert School of Management at Purdue University faced the challenge of connecting a large, global alumni base (40,000 alumni and 25,000 undergraduates) with students for mentoring and career networking while running programs with a small engagement team. The school needed a scalable, easy-to-use digital solution to recruit mentors, train students, and drive sustained platform engagement across departments.

Krannert implemented Graduway’s GradEngage platform—managed by a four-person Engagement Department—and used focused practices such as assigning a dedicated manager, leveraging vendor support, targeted semester digests, profile training, incentives, analytics, and cross-department collaboration. The result is a scalable, measurable mentorship program that efficiently recruits volunteers, increases alumni–student connections, lets a small team serve many stakeholders, and continues to evolve with data-driven improvements.
