GrabCAD Print Helps Students Get Hands-on With Their Creations

Pathfinder Tech, a regional vocational high school, wanted to integrate 3D printing into its CAD curriculum while making the technology accessible to all students. With support from GrabCad, the school introduced a Stratasys F170 3D printer and GrabCAD Print software to help students move from classroom designs to physical prototypes.

Using GrabCad’s solution, students and the robotics team were able to create complicated assemblies, figurines, and other intricate parts that would be difficult to print on standard machines. The Stratasys F170’s water-soluble support material expanded design possibilities, and GrabCAD Print’s intuitive workflow let students get started in under 3 minutes; the printer also produced models in as little as an hour and a half, making the process fast, educational, and fun.
