Leading Bus Transportation Company - Customer Case Study

Leading Bus Transportation Company in the Midwestern United States needed to automatically import route stops, times and vehicle/driver assignments from its dispatch system into Geotab, monitor changes throughout the day, provide a customer-facing "Where’s My Ride" web app showing planned vs. actual arrival/departure times, give dispatch quick access to live route status and history, and receive real-time alerts when buses aren’t en route. GPS to Go was engaged to integrate with the Geotab platform (using SDK/web services) and build the necessary web interfaces and monitoring.

GPS to Go implemented an externally hosted web application that ingests dispatch plans, loads route starts into Geotab, and uses Geotab web services plus a custom matching algorithm to correlate zone entry/exit events with planned routes. The deployment includes the rider-facing "Where’s My Ride" portal, internal dashboards and route-history downloads, and continuous assignment updates with text alerts for vehicles not moving—giving the Leading Bus Transportation Company real-time operational visibility, faster detection of missed departures, and improved passenger communication.
