Case Study: Orkin achieves $3.5M+ in savings and 60% fewer claims with GPS to GO

A GPS to Go Case Study

Preview of the Orkin Case Study

How Orkin Saved Over $3.5 Million

Orkin, a large pest‑control company with over 5,500 trucks, 8,000 employees and 400+ U.S. locations, needed a low‑maintenance, tamper‑proof fleet tracking solution that delivered real‑time, accurate reporting to reduce incidents and improve operations. They selected the Geotab GO GPS system through vendor GPS to Go to meet those requirements.

GPS to Go deployed Geotab GO devices fleet‑wide, adding speed monitoring, seat‑belt alerts, maintenance reminders and route optimization alongside stricter driving policies; this combination cut claims from roughly 12,000 in 1996 to 4,700 by 2003 and generated more than $3.5 million in savings (over $1M in workers’ comp, >$500K in auto damage, and >$2M in auto liability). The system also improved customer service and accident resolution (for example, GPS logs showed an Orkin driver was traveling 48 mph), boosting safety, efficiency and cost savings.
