How Grayson County, TX Expanded Access to Digital Records and Online Services for Citizens and Staff

Grayson County, Texas — a growing community of about 143,400 residents preparing for a major economic boost from a new Texas Instruments facility — faced rapidly rising land-record workload and an antiquated records system that limited online services. County Clerk Deana Patterson saw recordings climb from 31,738 in 2019 to 44,410 in 2021 and set a goal to digitize records and expand online access to better serve citizens and handle future growth.

To meet that challenge the county implemented GovOS Records (launched in June 2017), moving thousands of legacy records and indexes online and enabling eFiling and digital requests. The platform streamlined processing (marriage license submissions now take 15–20 minutes), saved staffing and storage costs, generated new revenue reinvested locally, improved citizen satisfaction, and demonstrated efficiencies that have prompted other counties to adopt the same solution.
