Dauphin County, PA Launches Virtual Probate System using GovOS

Dauphin County, PA partnered with GovOS to take its probate hearing system online after COVID-19 closed the courthouse to in-person filings. The county’s initial email-and-phone workaround generated lots of incomplete submissions, time-consuming back-and-forth, and difficult manual scheduling for a small staff.

GovOS deployed its eProbate platform and calendar‑synced scheduler to replace email with a single portal that enforces required fields and lets applicants book available video-hearing slots. In two months the county logged 92 virtual probate submissions (58 completed) and, across related programs, processed 475 marriage license applications in four months (347 issued); the system—paid for with CARES Act funds—improved safety, saved staff time, and is expected to handle about 2,000 cases this year.
