The challenge was replacing fragmented, paper-based permits, licenses and contracting processes that required in-person visits and manual handling with customer-centered, low-friction digital services.

By implementing SeamlessGov, Charlotte digitized key permits and licensing processes with end-to-end automated workflows—routing, reviews, notifications, issuance—and integrations for payments and state documents. The result: faster processing, reduced staff effort, a much easier online experience for residents (who can complete tasks from home), and a repeatable model for moving additional services paperless.
