A multinational discount retailer was selling its distressed TV and computer returns in bulk to a third-party refurbisher but sought higher recoveries on every item. The retailer partnered with the experienced returns management company goTRG, which leveraged its refurbishment and recommerce services, including its proprietary Returns Management Software (RMS), R1™, to address this challenge.

goTRG implemented a comprehensive repair program, processing returns at the retailer’s centers and using its software to determine which items were profitable to repair at its reverse logistics facilities. The solution managed the entire supply chain to reduce damages and shipping costs. This program generated over $17M in recovered revenue for the retailer, including $7M annually from TVs and $10M from computers, while also reducing in-transit damages by 10% and improving computer yields by 13%.
