Mediaocean Uses the Gotransverse Solution for Complex Usage-Based Calculations on Billions of Dollars of Ad Revenue at a Reduction of Close Time

Mediaocean, the global system of record for advertising, faced a growing challenge: its legacy billing system could not keep pace with high-volume, extremely complex usage-based billing for media placements—handling tiered discounts, monthly rating and re-rating, true-ups, multi-currency support, and complex tax calculations across more than 100,000 users. To meet scalability and accuracy needs, Mediaocean selected the Gotransverse billing solution (usage and rating engine) to replace its legacy processes.

Gotransverse implemented its cloud-based usage and rating and billing/invoicing platform, integrating with Mediaocean’s Dell Boomi and NetSuite flows to aggregate usage, apply custom tiered rate tables, perform rating/re-rating, and generate invoices. As a result, Gotransverse enabled Mediaocean to scale processing and rating of billions of dollars in ad spend, improve billing accuracy to up to seven decimal points, and shorten time to close by 22%.
