The New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) needed to prepare a pipeline of high-potential, diverse leaders for long-term success but found its initial multi-vendor leadership program to be generic and incohesive. To address this challenge, the NYCDOE partnered with the consulting firm gothamCulture to redesign and facilitate its LeadDOE leadership development program.

gothamCulture implemented a comprehensive six-month program featuring leadership and personality assessments, peer coaching, group sessions, and a capstone project. The solution resulted in a highly coveted program with 177 participants to date, who reported increased confidence, stronger internal networks, and improved leadership skills. Many alumni have advanced into senior roles, creating a deep bench of prepared leaders for the NYCDOE.
