Gosecure Saves Large Healthcare System Hundreds of Thousands Annually Through Predictive Staffing

OhioHealth, a nationally recognized not-for-profit health system with 35,000 associates across 12 hospitals and 200+ ambulatory sites, needed to better balance staffing to avoid both unnecessary expense from overstaffing and poor patient experience from understaffing. GoSecure partnered with OhioHealth to deliver a machine learning–based Predictive Staffing solution to forecast departmental demand and support the organization’s Quality and Affordability initiative.

GoSecure implemented a predictive model that combines multiple data sources to forecast staffing needs at the departmental level, helping supervisors decide how many associates to schedule within a three-week window and when to contact replacements. OhioHealth is piloting the model across several sites; GoSecure’s solution is estimated to save hundreds of thousands of dollars annually in a single department and paves the way for self-scheduling and flexible staffing across locations.
