Texas Tech University, working with Gordian, needed to renovate its outdated 8,000-square-foot Student Union Ballroom into a modern, multi-purpose space for orientation, conferences, meetings, and special events. Gordian had been supporting the university with training and procurement services since 2012, including its Job Order Contracting solutions for campus projects.

Using Gordian’s Job Order Contracting process, the $1.8 million renovation was completed in time for 7,000 incoming first-year students. Gordian helped Texas Tech deliver a customized space with features like logo carpet, acoustic and laminate wall panels, an operable partition, advanced AV systems, and programmable LED lighting, while also streamlining procurement, meeting deadlines and budgets, and supporting more than $18 million in completed construction work through JOC at the university.
